Matchbox Consulting Group is seeking a Safety Manager on behalf of a leading residential and commercial developer-builder. This is an excellent opportunity for a safety professional who wants to lead strategy and implementation across a portfolio of active projects, build strong site-level engagement, and elevate organizational health and safety culture.
As Safety Manager, you’ll oversee safety programs across multiple construction sites and business units. You’ll be the go-to expert for legislative compliance, COR certification, and WCB cost management while building strong relationships with site leaders, external partners, and regulatory bodies.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Monitor and ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC and other provincial H&S regulations
- Lead COR certification, site audits, and employee training programs
- Oversee hazard assessments, safety policies, and incident investigations
- Act as the main liaison with WorkSafeBC, including follow-up on orders and inquiries
- Identify opportunities to reduce WCB-related costs and improve workplace safety
- Promote a proactive, values-driven safety culture across the organization
- Travel regularly to sites across the Lower Mainland and nearby regions
- 5+ years of experience in construction safety leadership roles
- NCSO designation and diploma/degree in Occupational Health & Safety (or equivalent)
- Proven ability to lead H&S programs at a regional or multi-site level
- Comfortable working across field and office environments
- Strong knowledge of COR, WCB policies, and provincial safety standards
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
