We are seeking an educator who can differentiate instruction for diverse students and will inspire our students’ love for language learning. We want a teacher who values experimentation, a growth mindset and individual expression.

What would the job entail?

This is an opportunity for a French language educator to work with our intermediate coordinators to create and implement a language learning program that caters specifically to bright and curious learners. The successful candidate will have an in-depth understanding of the BC Curriculum in Languages Education and lead Grade 4-8 classes in meaningful inquiry-based learning experiences. We are looking for teachers who are passionate about working with gifted students and understand both the social-emotional and academic needs of gifted learners.

You Will Also

  • Promote and support the mission, vision and values of the school;
  • Design, prepare and deliver engaging units and lessons in French;
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs;
  • Implement assessment for, as, and of learning;
  • Report on students’ strengths and areas for growth;
  • Communicate regularly with parents about student learning and goals;
  • Participate in department meetings, staff meetings and professional development workshops
  • Work collaboratively with the school-based team to progress monitor and update IEPs;
  • Nurture students’ academic, social and emotional growth;
  • Use and integrate technology to support teaching and learning;
  • Participate in leading/coaching extra-curricular clubs and activities after school.

What You Have To Have

  • Bachelor of Education;
  • An undergraduate degree with a major in French;
  • Valid BC Teaching Certificate;
  • Experience teaching second languages in an elementary school setting.

What We Would Love

  • Familiarity with the AIM Language Learning Program;
  • Experience working with gifted and twice-exceptional students;
