Stepping Stones Consultants is seeking individuals interested in working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other disorders (ADHD/ADD, ODD, GAD, etc.) in the roles of Behaviour Interventionist (BI). The successful candidate will implement a home-based therapy program under the guidance of a Behaviour Consultant (BC). Therapy includes working one-on-one and running home-based sessions targeting play, academics, social skills, communication, self-management, and self-care skills.


This position is perfect for those with a background in or goals toward a career in speech-language pathology, education, psychology, social services, rehabilitation sciences, or a related field.


Clients range from 3 to 18 years of age and live from Chilliwack to Richmond and every city in between. You will be matched with clients based on geographical location to reduce travel time, which is paid time (see Compensation).


We need service providers in the following cities: Abbotsford, Tri-Cities, Richmond, Chilliwack, Surrey, Langley, Burnaby, Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, and Vancouver.


Compensation:


BC's Minimum Wage is $17.40 per hour at the time of hire, increasing to $20 per hour after the first 3-month probationary period, with opportunities for raises every 6 months thereafter. The pay scale is based on experience. Mileage and transit time is compensated as Company Policy.


Qualifications:

- Energetic, punctual, patient, and interested in supporting child development

- At least 19 years of age

- Have strong communication and play skills

- Commit to the position for a minimum of 6 months

- Having your vehicle is an asset

- Bi- or multi-lingual an asset

- Experience as a BI is not required to apply


The successful candidate will be expected to:


· Have their piece of technology (laptop/tablet)

· Take and apply constructive feedback

· Follow Positive Behaviour Support Plans (BPIs) and programs

· Aquire and bring a bag of toys to sessions

· Attend meetings and professional development workshops on a monthly and quarterly basis

· Collaborate with team members
