One of the sunniest regions in BC’s Lower Mainland, Delta embraces three unique communities – Ladner, North Delta and Tsawwassen. The City of Delta is looking for dedicated individuals to join our team and share in our commitment to lead the way in public service excellence.

The City of Delta is looking for dynamic, creative, and energetic Visual Arts Instructors to teach our recreational visual arts programs for all ages and abilities. The Leader will develop and implement quality, instructional, and engaging classes in drawing, painting, mixed media, anime, textiles, clay, collage, and/or photography. Other visual arts mediums will be considered. Programs run on a weekly basis during weekday mornings, weekday after school /evenings and weekends. Week-long camps run Monday – Friday over the summer.

Qualifications

  • Educational background in visual arts either through continued professional development or through completion of accredited programs
  • Have a strong teaching background and experience instructing visual arts to a variety of age groups
  • Knowledge and experience in an array of art disciplines is an asset
  • Flexible, self motivated, and can take initiative with little supervision
  • Responsible and punctual
  • Have strong customer service skills with excellent classroom management and organizational skills
  • Willing to work 2-4 hour shifts in Tsawwassen, Ladner, and/or North Delta
  • Available to work evenings (starting as early as 3pm) and weekends
  • Able to commit to two sessions (2 months in duration) of instruction
  • Able to create lesson plans for a series of sessional lessons
  • Must be able to pass and maintain a clear Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector (PIC-VS) check
