Position Overview: The Logistics Clerk plays a vital role in supporting the logistics and supply chain operations of the organization. This role involves managing documentation, coordinating shipments, maintaining records, and ensuring seamless communication between internal teams and external partners. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, well-organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Shipping and Receiving Support:
    • Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing lists, and customs declarations.
    • Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure timely shipments.
    • Track and monitor shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any transit issues.
  • Inventory and Record Keeping:
    • Maintain accurate records of inventory, shipments, and deliveries.
    • Update and manage logistics databases and systems to reflect current operations.
    • Conduct regular audits of inventory and shipping records to ensure accuracy.
  • Customer and Vendor Communication:
    • Serve as a point of contact for logistics-related inquiries from customers, vendors, and internal teams.
    • Provide updates on shipment statuses and address customer concerns.
    • Liaise with vendors to confirm order details, delivery schedules, and compliance with requirements.
  • Operational Coordination:
    • Assist in coordinating the movement of goods through various modes of transportation (air, sea, land).
    • Support the logistics team in planning and scheduling deliveries.
    • Monitor supply chain performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Compliance and Documentation:
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including customs and trade requirements.
    • Review shipping documentation for accuracy and completeness.
    • Maintain knowledge of industry standards and updates to shipping regulations.
Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in logistics, supply chain, or related fields is a plus.
  • Proven experience in a logistics, shipping, or warehouse support role.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and tools, as well as MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and adapt to changing priorities.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with customs processes and international shipping documentation.
  • Knowledge of inventory management systems and supply chain practices.
  • Problem-solving skills with a focus on logistics and operational efficiency.
