Delta Parks, Recreation & Culture is looking for a dynamic, creative and well organized individual to work on an auxiliary basis at our recreation facilities. The Program Centre Supervisor will be required to assist in implementing and the evaluation of recreation programs for Cultural Services, working out of satellite Arts Centre sites. This auxiliary opportunity requires individuals who are willing to work a variety of shifts including daytimes, evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities Include

  • Implement and direct Cultural programs scheduled for a facility or facilities in addition to leading programs. Ideally, the candidate will possess an Arts background of visual arts, theatre or other performing arts.
  • Support part-time Program Leaders
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Work within established guidelines and procedures, however, independence of action and judgment are exercised in day-to-day operations
  • An understanding of the Xplor registration system
  • Complete programs, input attendance/results, print off attendance sheets/class lists, pull program status reports
  • Ensuring standards and expectations for staff are being met in registered and drop in programs
  • Understanding of the basic rules of scheduling
  • Provide recommendations for equipment and program needs
  • Communication on a regular basis with parents, staff and the Cultural Services Programmer / Coordinator
  • Performing other related work as required

Desirable Training And Experience

Completion of the 12th school grade supplemented by courses in recreation and some related community recreation experience OR an equivalent combination of training and experience. Ideally, the candidate will possess an Arts background of visual arts, theatre or other performing arts. BCRPA High 5 is considered an asset.

Required Licenses, Certificates And Registrations

  • A valid Class 5 Driver’s License for the Province of British Columbia
  • Valid First Aid Certificate with CPR
