As a Crew Dispatcher you will communicate with Train & Engine (T&E) employees to appropriate assignments while ensuring the timely and cost-effective deployment of crews to meet operational requirements.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
As a Crew Dispatcher you will communicate with Train & Engine (T&E) employees to appropriate assignments while ensuring the timely and cost-effective deployment of crews to meet operational requirements.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Interpret and apply the applicable provisions of the T&E collective agreements;
- Enter data into the various computer applications such as, but not limited to, Crew Management Application (CMA), Nexus, Auto Crew Caller and Microsoft Office;
- Make business decisions based on priorities established by the Operations Centre (OC);
- Answer any inquiries from employees;
- Maintain Crew Management Application records;
- Monitor T&E maximum hour clock and mandatory time on duty and rest rules;
- Be accountable for the proficient handling of other related tasks as required.
- High School Graduation or General Equivalency Diploma;
- Previous dispatcher or call centre experience would be considered an asset;
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and have the ability to make decision under stressful situations;
- Strong written and verbal communication/comprehension;
- Desire to work in a challenging environment;
- Ability to work in a team environment;
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and have the ability to make decision under stressful situations;
- Bilingualism would be an asset (French and English).
- This position is staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, therefore shift work and weekend work is required.
