PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

As a Crew Dispatcher you will communicate with Train & Engine (T&E) employees to appropriate assignments while ensuring the timely and cost-effective deployment of crews to meet operational requirements.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Interpret and apply the applicable provisions of the T&E collective agreements;
• Enter data into the various computer applications such as, but not limited to, Crew Management Application (CMA), Nexus, Auto Crew Caller and Microsoft Office;
• Make business decisions based on priorities established by the Operations Centre (OC);
• Answer any inquiries from employees;
• Maintain Crew Management Application records;
• Monitor T&E maximum hour clock and mandatory time on duty and rest rules;
• Be accountable for the proficient handling of other related tasks as required.
  
  

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Graduation or General Equivalency Diploma;
• Previous dispatcher or call centre experience would be considered an asset;
• Ability to work with minimum supervision and have the ability to make decision under stressful situations;
• Strong written and verbal communication/comprehension;
• Desire to work in a challenging environment;
• Ability to work in a team environment;
• Ability to work with minimum supervision and have the ability to make decision under stressful situations;
• Bilingualism would be an asset (French and English).
• This position is staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, therefore shift work and weekend work is required.
• Ability to be flexible with changing work schedules.
