As a Procurement Officer working in the Major Projects team at Pomerleau Construction, you will support new and ongoing project growth and challenge industry standards with your trade-driven expertise and knowledge. Working on large-scale building and infrastructure projects – ranging from $1.5 million to upwards of $1 billion – you will manage the bid to procure cycle for purchase of specialized equipment, materials, subcontracts and services success.

The expected salary range for this opportunity is $97,000 - $131,000. Please note that salaries may vary depending on the candidate’s experience and geographical location. Listed compensation is exclusive of bonus and in addition to our extensive employee benefits program which is listed above. Availability of certain benefits may vary based on the specific job role.

Working on large-scale building and infrastructure projects – ranging from $1.5 million to upwards of $1 billion – you will manage the bid to procure cycle for purchase of specialized equipment, materials, subcontracts and services success.
What You Will Do
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet project timelines and budgets.
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive terms while maintaining quality standards.
- Prepare purchase orders and manage contracts for materials, equipment, and services required for projects.
- Monitor supplier performance, ensuring compliance with agreements, timelines, and quality expectations.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to forecast procurement needs and address potential challenges.
- Maintain procurement records, including contracts, purchase orders, and supplier correspondence.
- Manage inventory levels to avoid project delays or cost overruns.
- Ensure all procurement activities align with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Act as a liaison between the company and suppliers to resolve any issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 8-10 years of procurement experience in infrastructure or tunnel construction projects.
- Proficiency in procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle Procurement, or similar).
- Strong understanding of materials, equipment, and subcontractor requirements for tunneling projects.
- Knowledge of contract law and construction procurement regulations.
- Proven experience in procurement within the construction or building industry, preferably on large-scale projects.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills.
