Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Partners with stakeholders across depts to understand contract needs; Initiates contracts, contract review, negotiation, and liaises with legal on contracts of all types. Monitors cost, schedules, and performance aspects of major contracts.
  • Facilitates fair and transparent bid processes for applicable projects.
  • While not a supervisory role, this position may be required to coach/mentor junior members of the purchasing group and will be involved in the delegation of tasks within the team.
  • Manages the planning, development, implementation, and administration of the.
  • Provides department management with the coordination of activities and resolution of issues and potential problems related to production planning, procurement, and material management, making or recommending appropriate decisions consistent with strategic direction.
  • Implements and maintains material control systems, policies, processes and procedures ensuring that a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements.
  • May serve as liaison between the company and the various governmental agencies. Directly interfaces with regulatory agencies as required.
  • Reviews, approves and/or implements changes to controlled documents as needed.
  • Track, analyze and build procurement metrics to identify trends and areas of improvement. Identifies, selects, negotiates with and manages strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring they meet quality standards and delivery expectations.
  • Recommends organizational objectives and interprets company policies.

Specific Education & Experience Requirements

  • 10+ years relevant experience in related field and a BS or BA;

or

  • 8+ years of relevant experience and an MA/MBA.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with both SAP and Oracle
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively cross functionally
  • Able to develop complex concepts, techniques, and standards.
  • Able to develop solutions to complex problems which require an in-depth degree of ingenuity and creativity.
  • Experience in contract management.
  • Comfortable with a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the financial aspects of Supply Chain operations
