Senior Analyst, Strategy

This position is required to be on-site and is located in Calgary, Alberta.

The Senior Analyst, Corporate Strategy will play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s long-term strategic direction and driving key business initiatives. This position involves conducting in-depth strategic and industry analyses, facilitating the development of corporate and business area strategies, and providing actionable recommendations to senior leadership. This role will also support cross-functional strategic projects that drive organizational growth and innovation.

What You Will Do

• Assist with strategy development, and in partnership with the business, identify new business initiatives that capture emerging short, medium, and long-term opportunities for Nutrien
• Support the development of business cases and presentations for an executive level audience
• Support financial analysis on strategic initiatives
• Meaningfully contribute to the development and presentation of material for Board Strategy sessions
• Support promulgation of Nutrien’s strategy across the organization through engagement and coordination with executive leadership, Nutrien’s businesses and corporate teams
• Analyze macro environment and major industry trends to develop a robust understanding of emerging opportunities and threats across Nutrien’s business portfolio
• Develop trusting and collaborative relationships throughout the organization to inform and challenge Nutrien’s strategy
• Work cross-functionally to support the execution of strategic projects and initiatives, driving change across the organization
  
  

What You Will Bring

• 6-8 years of experience in Strategy, Management Consulting, Investment Banking, Corporate Development, or a related role is preferred. Previous experience in the agriculture or fertilizer industry is an advantage
• Superior analytical skills, strong financial acumen, and the ability to both dig into the details and retain big picture thinking
• Highly motivated, self-starter with a curious mindset that enjoys tackling complex problems
• Experience supporting large projects involving multiple teams within an organization
• Ability to build partnerships and establish trust & credibility across all levels
• Strong project management skills, experience influencing others, reaching alignment, and driving execution
• Effective written and verbal communication skills adaptable to various audiences, including senior leadership
• Must be proficient in all Microsoft applications and have a high skill level with Excel and PowerPoint
• A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Management, Accounting or related area. A post-graduate designation such as a CFA, CPA or MBA or similar is an advantage
