Responsibilities
- Controls team activity in issuance of client notifications, reviewing and validating instructions, system setup, files and documents prior to distribution,
- Contributes to the daily team reconciliation process of out of balance situations, suspense account activity and the conversion or transfer of new or existing accounts, escalating potential issues or loss situations directly to the Manager
- Process complex corporate actions & income events and answer client inquiries that are complex in nature
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure corporate events submissions inquiry responses are complete, timely and accurate
- Maintain an up to date knowledge of Tax related issues affecting Corporate Actions and Income as a subject matter expert
- Collaborates with the team members in dealing with problem resolution and delegation/escalation of client-based requests and issues, communicating with clients directly on sensitive issues and acting as a subject matter expert providing team, other CIBC Mellon internal departments and clients with product knowledge assistance and support
- Collaborates regularly with group management and other CIBC Mellon internal departments to support the resolution of client enquires, issues and concerns identified outside of the Corporate Actions and Processing department .
- Assist in identifying team productivity and procedural improvements
- Contributes to the implementation of departmental operational improvements and internal controls
- Community College Diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years industry related, progressive experience, including previous team leadership experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in corporate actions and income processing , depository settlements, account transactions, accounting procedures and tax processing
- Knowledge of the securities industry
- Knowledge of CASCADE, MHC/SWIFT, CMS, Bloomberg,
- Advanced skills on Microsoft Office, Word, Excel (VBA knowledge preferred)
- Canadian Securities Course
- Communication; demonstrated leadership ability
