Storage Consultant:

On behalf of our Public Services client, Procom is searching for a Storage Consultant for a 6 month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.


Storage Consultant - Job Description:

The Storage Consultant will work on implementing processes and systems that enhance the technical delivery of maintenance and improvement programs in Backup and SAN Storage support. The role involves supporting Backup and SAN infrastructure in a mixed operating system environment, identifying incidents, diagnosing and resolving problems, and assisting with storage usage and features.


Storage Consultant - Responsibilities:

• Perform daily monitoring and management of backup solutions and execute restore jobs.
• Provide status and progress reports for backup environment activities.
• Manage Cloud backup solutions and perform SAN Storage operational tasks.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot Dell EMC, IBM SP4C, and IBM Backup and Storage Area Networks solutions.
• Create and update documentation for backup standard operating procedures.
• Develop plans to support IT infrastructure services and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Provide infrastructure services to support IT&S project delivery.
• Troubleshoot and maintain IT assets for improved reliability.
  
  
  

Storage Consultant - Mandatory Skills:

• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
• 7-10 years of experience in IT backup and storage technologies.
• Strong understanding of Backup concepts and technologies, e.g., Dell EMC Networker.
• Strong understanding of Cloud backup technologies.
• Working knowledge of Cloud storage and Ransomware solutions.
• Working knowledge of IBM SAN systems and iSCSI and Fiber Channel SAN infrastructure.
• Strong troubleshooting abilities in a large-scale operational environment.
  
  
  

Storage Consultant – Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Good knowledge of Windows Server and MSSQL databases backup tools.
• Good knowledge of AIX and Redhat Enterprise Linux.
• Familiarity with Oracle databases backup tools (RMAN).
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
