They will also support the business with reporting needs and information requests as needed.

The position is responsible for the collection, review, and processing of all payroll system changes, timesheet review and follow up, and accountability of all other payroll functions for a specified group of hourly and salaried employees and/or companies. They will also support the business with reporting needs and information requests as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Verifies auto timesheets are calculating correctly, missed punches are fixed, and approvals completed for time and PTO requests and exception entries, all within the specified payroll processing deadline.
- Validates payroll register using exception reports, and follows up or actions any necessary corrections.
- Understands and applies provincial Labor Standards regulations on a national basis.
- Compiles and prepares reports, presentations and/or personnel statistics as required.
- Responsible for vacation accrual maintenance and reporting.
- Responsible for maintaining the personnel files.
- Processes new hires, employee changes, terminations and ROE’s as required.
- Assists managers and employees with HCM system.
- Various weekly, bi-weekly and monthly reporting.
- Addresses staff questions and concerns via e-mail, phone or in person.
- Must possess a CPA level 1 certificate (Payroll Compliance Practitioner).
- 2 years’ experience in a full cycle payroll function for a large corporation.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills to work with various teams and personalities.
- Proficient working knowledge of Excel.
- Self-starter.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a dynamic team environment.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks under strict deadlines.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidential information is critical.
