As an Associate Account Executive, Employee Benefits, a typical day might include:
- Takes full ownership of renewal book, cultivating strong working relationships with clients and working to maximize the ongoing retention of business
- Submitting “Requests for Proposal” to insurers; reviewing proposals for accuracy; negotiating the final terms; finalizing proposals; and presenting options and recommendations to prospective clients
- Managing the implementation process for new clients
- Negotiating, preparing, and presenting annual renewal offerings
- Providing quarterly plan performance updates
- Preparing and presenting plan options and recommendations to existing clients
- Marketing client’s programs when strategically appropriate
- Providing ongoing plan administration training and support
- Hosting employee education sessions to explain the benefits platform
- Preparing plan member memos and support materials
- Providing administrators with notices of any important plan or industry changes
- Working with Employee Benefits Service Specialist to facilitate day-to-day administration
- Developing marketing initiatives for new business
- Assisting members to source individual coverages when coming off group platforms
- Assisting Director, Employee Benefits do develop and secure new business opportunities, involving but not limited to:
- Initiating communication with the prospect and Axis team members as required after the Director has made initial contact
- Referencing industry benchmark data to help develop appropriate coverage solutions
- Determining best insurers for coverage and liaising with insurers (national, US, & international)
- Cultivating a trusted and collaborative working relationship with the prospective client
- Preparing and presenting proposals for prospective clients, or forwarding to Director to review and present
- Collaborating with Director on annual business plan and strategic initiatives to grow the block of business
- Assisting plan members with claims submission, ensuring timely and accurate claim payments
- Coordinating with insurers regarding plan amendments, billings, and member enrollments
- Managing daily administration of accounts, including correspondence; review of policy wordings & contracts; and issuance of new/renewal documentation

Qualifications:
- Minimum 6 years Employee Benefits insurance experience, with 3+ years of client management
- Knowledge of international benefits planning an asset
- LLQP/Life License, to be completed within 6 months of employment
- Post Secondary degree or diploma
Must Haves:
- Excellent written & oral communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Aptitude for figures
