Job Description

Senior Digital Architect with strong leadership and architectural expertise to guide agile teams in delivering scalable, user-centered, and technically sound digital services within a public sector transformation initiative.

Must Have skills

  • 5+ years experience with
    • DevSecOps implementation in enterprise environments
    • Transitioning legacy systems into modern digital services
    • MDM hub architecture and enterprise data registries
    • Advocating for digital transformation technologies in public sector contexts
    • Familiarity with design thinking, UX, and human-centered design
    • Domain modeling and database schema design for both transactional and analytical systems
    • Leading solution architecture for large-scale enterprise projects with system integrations
    • Working across the full software development lifecycle in agile environments
    • With software architecture and technical leadership of cross-functional product teams
    • Communicating complex technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders and advising decision-makers
    • Open source ecosystems such as Node.js/NPM
  • 2+ years working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Must include two detailed project/assignment examples with responses to 5 specific evaluation questions

Responsibilities

  • Lead solution architecture for digital services with an emphasis on agile, citizen-centered design
  • Develop technical roadmaps, uncover system contexts, and provide discovery prototypes
  • Own solution design, assess technical risks, and deliver iteratively through integration and component reuse
  • Coach agile teams on balancing technical work and user story delivery
  • Provide technical mentorship, contribute to code reviews, and support development if necessary
  • Contribute to long-term architectural vision across services and platforms
  • Communicate complex architecture to both technical and business audiences
  • Help evolve architectural practices, principles, metrics, and standards
  • Participate in the development of common services, reusable components, and APIs

Additional Information

  • Duration – 12 months
  • Extension – Up to 24 months
  • Hours – 36.25 hours/week (7.25 hours/day)
  • Location – Remote within Canada; occasional in-person sessions in Alberta
  • Travel to Alberta may be required; at no cost to the client
