Position Summary
The Systems Engineer is responsible for creating product level design collateral, technical specifications, and system-level analysis as a key member of the Systems Engineering Team in the Product Development department.

The Systems Engineer is responsible for creating product level design collateral, technical specifications, and system-level analysis as a key member of the Systems Engineering Team in the Product Development department.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, curate, and maintain the core product specifications, and be the principal owner of the critical customer-facing product documentation.
- Manage the system-level requirements and interfaces throughout the product development process and coordinate the allocation of the subsystem-level requirements and interfaces with their associated development teams.
- Perform technical analysis of product performance, configuration, applications, and related topics.
- Conduct technical reviews, including DFMEA and review of system validation findings
- Perform technical analysis and review of elements of the product-level design such as plot fitting, data analysis, heat transfer analysis, fluid analysis, creating/reviewing control state diagrams, decision analysis, risk analysis, fault tree analysis, test plan review, etc.
- Assist the Product Development team with ensuring the complete and accurate development of the product and successfully releasing it for market launch.
- Create tools and processes to automate and streamline the delivery of product-level analyses and collateral.
- Provide technical guidance relating to system design and performance to other teams and departments.
- BASc/BEng in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent
- 5+ years’ experience designing, developing and/or testing energy storage or power electronics systems
- Broad understanding of engineering fundamentals across multiple disciplines
- Proficiency with Excel VBA and other workflow automation
- Experience with Li-ion batteries and chemistry is an asset
- Experience in the marine industry or marine product development is an asset
- Experience working in a multi-disciplinary engineering team
- Experience managing technical specifications, documentation, and requirements
- Strong decision making, critical thinking, and analysis skills
- Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
