Purpose

The Budgeting/System Governance Specialist will work closely with the Reliability/Asset Strategy Specialist and area Superintendents to ensure the Porcupine Asset Management budget and forecast are accurate and aligned with the latest equipment strategies; and ensure that the CMMS data is structure and maintained in accordance the Discovery Standards.

Key Outcomes Include

  • Lead the creation of the annual budget and quarterly forecast with the support of the area asset management teams.
  • Support the area superintendents during the monthly cost review process including major variance against the annual budget.
  • Provide Supply Chain Management with a major components and equipment replacement forecast.
  • Develop and roll out a site master data change management process; oversee the CMMS structure and site work management work flow.

Responsibilities

Safety Compliance

  • Duties:Demonstrate proactive leadership in achieving a Discovery Porcupine culture of safety and health
  • Actively promote Discovery’s safety standards and improvement initiatives

Lead the Annual Budgeting and Quarterly Forecast for the Asset Management Teams

  • Develop a budgeting and cost forecast process for all maintenance areas.
  • Lead the budgeting process with assistance for the area superintendents and planning resources.
  • Provide the supply chain management team with a major component replacement forecast.
  • Perform monthly asset cost review against budget.
  • Support the Reliability/Asset Strategy Specialist and area Superintendent in the asset replacement strategy.

Own the CMMS data structure and oversee that it is maintained in accordance the Discovery Standards.

  • Develop and roll out a site master data change management process.
  • Oversee the CMMS structure and site work management work flows.
  • Oversee the master data for projects/new assets: Functional Locations, Parrent Assets, Children Assets, Maintenance Activities as defined by Asset Strategies, Work Instructions, Etc…
  • Support the area planners with minor master data changes.
  • Review and ensure that all existing assets have required master data based on the site approved structure.

Training and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent industry experience
  • Valid "G" Driver's license
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in asset management and maintenance practices.
  • Minimum 5 years in a leadership role.
  • ERP system experience desirable
  • Budgeting and cost management experience
  • Experience with manual and computerized maintenance planning systems.
  • Experience with change, communication and knowledge management methodologies
  • Experience in implementing Asset Management principles and best practices
  • Experience with maintenance budgeting and forecasting
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and ability to drive performance improvement initiatives
  • Ability to quickly assess information to diagnose problems and opportunities, with a track record of strong professional judgement and critical thinking
  • Ability to manage and influence stakeholders across different functions
  • Demonstrated ability to create data-driven business decisions
