What You’ll Like About This Job

FortisBC is looking for Equipment Operators to support its gas distribution network in Kelowna, BC. The position combines heavy equipment operation with hands-on training in welding, pipefitting, and emergency response. It’s ideal for mechanically inclined individuals eager to grow their technical skillset through field experience and structured training.

What You’ll Need

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Class 3 Driver’s License with clean driving record
  • Proven experience operating backhoes and excavating equipment
  • Strong safety habits and teamwork skills
  • Ability to meet residency and standby requirements

What Will Make You Stand Out

  • Current Gasfitter B-ticket or welding credentials
  • Experience in shallow construction environments
  • Skill operating a range of utility equipment (trenchers, skid steers, etc.)
