Layout
Hourly rate: $39.93 – Fully Qualified (starts at Learner 1: $33.94/hr; Learner 2: $35.93/hr; Learner 3: $37.93) Progression based on merit not hours.
We have opportunities for skilled Layout to join our production team at our facility in CAMBRIDGE, ON. Each member of our team plays a critical role in BWXT Canada’s success and in ensuring we meet our customers’ quality, cost and delivery expectations.

Layout

We have opportunities for skilled Layout to join our production team at our facility in CAMBRIDGE, ON. Each member of our team plays a critical role in BWXT Canada’s success and in ensuring we meet our customers’ quality, cost and delivery expectations.
Primary Function
- To perform all types of layout work including development on all types of material.
- Read and interpret documentation.
- Perform mathematical calculations.
- Verify and identify material to procedure.
- Ensures accuracy of drawings and may suggest revisions.
- Assists Fitters as required.
- Performs Fitter duties when not required on Layout.
- Performs dimensional checks on products and tools prior to final inspection.
- Works in a safe manner. Demonstrates good workmanship and practices.
- Advanced understanding of blueprint reading
- Minimum 5 years fitting experience in heavy manufacturing industry.
- Previous layout experience would be an asset.
- Demonstrate ability to perform complex mathematical calculations in relation to positional dimensions for products and tooling
- Must be available to work any of the following shifts:
- Days: 6:00 am to 4:00 pm. (Mon – Thurs) OR;
- Afternoons: 4:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m. (Mon – Thurs) OR;
- Weekend days: 6:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Fri, Sat, Sun; paid for 40 hours).
