The Advanced Data Capture group designs, develops and brings to market the highest quality and performance imaging based readers for use in retail, warehouse, and factory applications. The Engineer II will be an important part of a highly collaborative team helping innovate and release those world class products while learning and growing in their career.

The Advanced Data Capture group designs, develops and brings to market the highest quality and performance imaging based readers for use in retail, warehouse, and factory applications. The Engineer II will be an important part of a highly collaborative team helping innovate and release those world class products while learning and growing in their career.
- Location: Onsite in the Mississauga, Ontario, Canada office.
- Work as part of a larger team lead by more senior engineers to design, develop and test new data capture products
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including Electrical, Software, Mechanical, Optical and Manufacturing Engineers
- Reviews test results and perform root cause analyses to identify problems
- Runs tests designed by more experienced engineers.
- Seeks out new tools to analyze and solve problems.
- A solid understanding of electronics fundamentals - knowledge of or experience with embedded systems a plus
- Responsible for circuit development and schematic entry - Cadence experience a plus
- Responsible for electrical component selection
- Create and test prototypes at the component or circuit level to verify they meet design requirements
- Use common electrical test equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Digital Multi-meters, Power Supplies, Frequency Generators, Logic analyzers, etc.
- Direct and work with technicians to perform testing
- Responsible for documentation of test requirements and results to ISO 9000 standards
- Able to communicate technical details or issues clearly and succinctly
- Makes and implements recommendations to immediate team to enhance performance and improve productivity.
- Builds productive working relationships internally and externally.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or releated technical field
- 2+ years of experience
- Electronic Hardware Design Experience
- Experience with common electrical test equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Digital Multi-meters, Power Supplies, etc.
- Master's degree with 1+ years of experience
- Ability to understand Embedded Software
- Schematic entry and simulation experience
- Familiarity fundamentals of PCB layout.
- Demonstrated examples as a team player with ability to navigate organizational boundaries
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a high attention to detail
- Role is required to be onsite in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada office.
