Opportunity
The Annis Residence Supervisor is a member of our leadership team that operates out of the Chilliwack Health and Housing Centre. Butchart House is a 5-bedroom permanent congregate housing arrangement that is unstaffed, but also supported by the Annis team. The primary role is to provide leadership and supervision to the Annis/Butchart housing staff team, to develop and implement creative programming within a residential setting, perform administrative functions such as scheduling and rent payments, and provide support and engagement with participants. The Supervisor will bring connection and advocacy to promote stability and wellbeing in participants’ housing sustenance. This position requires an understanding of the impacts of poverty, trauma, substance use, housing and mental health. This position also requires expertise in community engagement, active participation in Chilliwack housing tables, and working collaboratively with funders and stakeholders. A strong ability to use initiative and to function independently is also required. A good work ethic and high level of commitment to this leadership role is important.
The Annis Residence provides 2-year transitional housing and support to 22 residents who have been unhoused in Chilliwack for more than 6 months and may have mental health, physical health, and past and/or present substance use issues. The Supervisor will oversee the Annis Residence team, whose primary role is to provide support on individual participant goals, and to ultimately assist residents in a healthy transition to long-term, permanent and stable housing.
Hours must be flexible to accommodate the needs of a 24-hour/day, 7 days/week program, where support is sometimes required outside of the typical work day hours.
