Working with the Site Supervisor and Project Manager, the Traffic Accommodations Supervisor (TAS) leads and manages a crew of three or more flag persons. The TAS ensures the traffic plan for each project is installed properly and is effective for efficient and safe traffic flow through the work zone. The TAS is also responsible for ensuring flag persons are trained properly. Traffic Accommodations Supervisor will always be the first person on the road in the morning and the last one to leave. This position requires the ability to travel, overnight, and work overtime during a 10 on and 4 off work schedule.

- Lead and manage a crew of three or more flag persons
- Delegate tasks to flag persons
- Install traffic signs before the road crew gets out to the road for the day
- Update traffic signs throughout the day as the job requires
- Ensure signs are clean and in good working order
- Organize flag persons to work in two-hour intervals and coordinate breaks
- Assess traffic flow regularly and adjust signage as necessary
- Take down unnecessary traffic signs at the end of the day once the road crews are off the road
- Keep record of any broken, damaged, or stolen signs and replace them accordingly
- Conduct employee evaluations
- Promote the company safety program and effectively contribute to the company safety culture:
- Facilitate daily toolbox meetings and involve flag persons
- Perform hazard inspections and assessments of the jobsite before the work begins and whenever there are changes to location or situation
- Ensure employees are provided with and using necessary Personal Protective Equipment
- Ensure employees are using safe work practices and procedures
- Implement corrective actions in a timely manner and record the outcome in the daily toolbox meeting
- Communicate with the Site Supervisor, Project Manager, and Safety Officer regularly
- Keep and maintain daily sign log
- Have knowledge of the Workzone Traffic Accommodation Manual and current legislative requirements
- Maintain company sign truck
- Work in 10-day shifts (subject to change)
- Willing to travel and overnight
