What You’ll Like About This Job
FortisBC is hiring Corrosion Technicians in Burnaby to maintain and troubleshoot cathodic protection systems that safeguard critical gas infrastructure. This field-intensive role includes testing, analysis, data reporting, and ensuring compliance with corrosion standards. Ideal for those with NACE CP1 certification and experience in AC/DC interference diagnostics, this position is central to infrastructure integrity and public safety.

- NACE CP1 Cathodic Protection Tester certification
- Coating Inspection Program Level 1
- Four (4) years of directly related corrosion control experience
- Knowledge of cathodic protection systems and AC/DC interference
- Mechanical aptitude and strong data analysis skills
- Valid BC Driver’s License and safe driving record
- Ability to use Microsoft Office applications and calibration tools
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience using advanced corrosion survey tools (e.g., close-interval, coating conductance surveys)
- Familiarity with Canadian standards such as CSA Z662 and OCC1
- Prior interaction with municipalities and third-party contractors regarding pipeline safety
