What You’ll Like About This Job

FortisBC is hiring Corrosion Technicians in Burnaby to maintain and troubleshoot cathodic protection systems that safeguard critical gas infrastructure. This field-intensive role includes testing, analysis, data reporting, and ensuring compliance with corrosion standards. Ideal for those with NACE CP1 certification and experience in AC/DC interference diagnostics, this position is central to infrastructure integrity and public safety.

What You’ll Need

• NACE CP1 Cathodic Protection Tester certification
• Coating Inspection Program Level 1
• Four (4) years of directly related corrosion control experience
• Knowledge of cathodic protection systems and AC/DC interference
• Mechanical aptitude and strong data analysis skills
• Valid BC Driver’s License and safe driving record
• Ability to use Microsoft Office applications and calibration tools
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  
  

What Will Make You Stand Out

• Experience using advanced corrosion survey tools (e.g., close-interval, coating conductance surveys)
• Familiarity with Canadian standards such as CSA Z662 and OCC1
• Prior interaction with municipalities and third-party contractors regarding pipeline safety
