Position Overview

Are you a tax professional with significant Canadian corporate taxation experience, looking to elevate your career in inbound and outbound international tax services advising successful privately owned Canadian businesses?

As we expand our International Tax practice across Canada, we are excited to present a fantastic career opportunity for an experienced and dynamic   Manager, International Tax  in British Columbia. This role offers a lot of agility to shape your learning experiences and gain exposure to a wide variety of cross border client engagements and industries.

In the role you will:

  • Collaborate closely with our International Tax Partner to advise multinational organizations in achieving their business objectives, including structuring their Canadian operations and conducting tax due diligence for the acquisition of Canadian target entities
  • Work directly with clients, taking ownership of the client experience and focusing on building and strengthening client-firm relationships. Your expertise will be key in making these important connections and enhancing our overall client services
  • Develop strategic tax planning solutions tailored to clients’ unique business needs
  • Help clients navigate the complexities of Corporate Canadian Tax for both inbound and outbound investments

This experience will empower clients to achieve their business objectives while staying true to their strategies instead of altering their plans to fit tax advice. Their business strategy drives our tax guidance.

Our approach is personalized, focusing on what each client is striving to achieve, rather than offering one-size-fits all solutions.

Key Requirements:

Experience:

  • 2-4 years of tax experience, within a professional services firm or a multinational corporation with substantial foreign affiliates. 
  • Significant tax planning and compliance experience, with a deep understanding of Canadian Corporate Taxation, including outbound international tax services
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Canadian corporate income tax with solid working knowledge of Canadian international tax rules 
  • Proven experience in consulting services to clients with international and cross-border operations/investments  

Education:

Completion of Bachelor and/or Master's Degree in related field: Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, Law, and/or Taxation.

Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) Designation.

These credentials are considered helpful: CPA Canada’s In-Depth Tax Program or Member of the Bar.

At Doane Grant Thornton, we’re committed to ensuring our compensation practices are fair, equitable and competitive. To get the conversation started, we’re happy to share that our current base salary for this role ranges from $90,000 - $120,000 in Vancouver, BC. If this role is available in another location(s), the associated salary range in that location(s) may vary based on relevant factors, including geography.
