About The Role
As ATB’s next Agriculture Underwriting Manager, your role will provide agriculture credit expertise in support of ATB’s Agriculture Strategy. You will work with a team of Agriculture Underwriters to support our Agriculture Relationship Managers (RM). You will report to the Agriculture Central Underwriting Director.
You will be considered an expert agricultural lender. You possess a good understanding of agriculure credit solutions and structuring credits. While this is not a customer facing role, you may be occasionally required to meet virtually with clients or other external partners.
Your day to day work would involve credit risk analysis and preparing formal credit presentations along with meeting with your RM and/or Credit partners to determine optimum credit solutions. There will also be opportunity to showcase your leadership and presentation skills through various project work.
Please note: The specific level for this Senior Underwriting Manager position (UM5 or UM6) will be determined based on the qualifications of the selected candidate.

Accountabilities
- Make sound credit decisions for clients with risk exposures exceeding $3 million in lending commitments
- Partner in first line of defense for risk management and make independent recommendations in conjunction with Sales team
- Assess risk and profitability, maintain accounts, underwrite credit and ensures optimum client servicing
- Ensure overall loan quality and supporting documentation is within the acceptable ATB measures and identifies all cross-selling opportunities while maintaining adherence to established service level agreements maintaining adherence to established service level agreements
- Business or accounting degree or related business experience
- 3 to 5 years experience underwriting business loans with a strong preference for individuals who maintain a good understanding of the Alberta agricultural industry
- Strong analytical and financial analysis skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
