Cost Accountant

The location in Montreal , Quebec , Canada , is seeking talent to fill the position of Cost Accountant . This job is full-time permanent .

Responsabilities

• Perform financial reporting processes, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement close procedures, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Prepare annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
• Conduct costing analysis and provide guidance to Mill Management.
• Compile grade cost analysis and margin reports for Mill Management.
• Assist with special projects or assignments as needed.
• Understand journal entries, accounting flows, and operational back-office processes.
• Identify potential risks in accounts and resolve reconciling items promptly.
• Produce detailed documentation of accounting processes and associated accounting flows.
• Identify opportunities for process and internal control enhancements.
• Provide additional ad hoc analysis as required.
• Support procurement operations for the Calhoun facility.
  
  

Ideal Profile

• Undergraduate degree in Finance/Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of 2–3 years of Cost Accounting experience.
• Experience in conducting audits and financial analysis.
• Preferably experienced in a manufacturing facility.
• SAP experience is desirable.
• Position requires strong analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficiency with the full Microsoft Suite is required.
• Effective communication skills across all levels of the organization.
• A high level of ethical practice and safety-mindedness is essential.
