We are SLR Consulting (Canada), a 600+ team of advisory, environmental/engineering, and regulatory professionals across 18 office locations in Canada. We deliver environmental and sustainability services to our clients through the integration of advisory and over 30 technical environmental and engineering disciplines to help clients address some of their most complex challenges around sustainability, we are Making Sustainability Happen.
As our new Office Administrator and Project Support, you will play an important role on a team whose work is essential to achieving this goal.
Job Description
What you’ll be doing
In this important role, you’ll keep our office running efficiently by supporting team members throughout all levels of the company, planning events, leading programs, and maintaining office services. We’ll trust you to lead initiatives independently, and to manage critical, confidential information as you work with legal and financial documents.
You’ll also partner with our management team, operations managers, and a Canada-wide shared services team supporting SLR’s documentation needs across all our offices and helping to drive the consistency and quality of SLR deliverables.
Your biggest assets in this role will be your excellent communication skills, a proactive and positive attitude towards new challenges, strong computer skills, and your ability to build strong relationships as you work with everyone from entry-level employees to management. Others will quickly get to know you as someone they can come to for support with any task and guidance on company policy and process.
Your success in this position will require a high degree of organization, attention to detail, time management, and a collaborative approach supporting our One Team culture. You’ll enjoy a flexible and dynamic work environment with an engaged team of fellow professionals.

Key Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing office procedures to maintain smooth daily operations
- Procuring and managing office supplies, allocating office space, and organizing maintenance
- Provide office reception duties as needed, including welcoming and guiding visitors and clients
- Provide administrative office and project support, including invoicing, information/data management, client liaison, and ensuring compliance with SLR policies and procedures
- Assist in proposal and report preparation, including final formatting, style guide compliance review, electronic compilation, printing, and collation
- Assist with planning company events
- Assist in coordinating internal and client meetings, including meeting room booking, A/V setup, food and beverage supply, cleanup, and taking meeting minutes
- Assist in travel bookings
- Assist with monitoring and maintaining office and workstation equipment/accessories
- On-boarding and training of new staff on office-specific and company-wide policies and procedures
- General office upkeep and other administrative duties as required

- 5 years of experience in office and/or project administration preferred
- Excellent organizational, inter-personal, and time management skills
- Strong proofreading and keyboarding skills
- Experience with project cost controls and invoicing
- High proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams / SharePoint, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Acrobat
- Experience with EQuIS and Deltek Vantagepoint is an asset
- Experience working in the environmental services industry is an asset
- Government Security Clearance eligibility is an asset
