Principal Salesforce Developer

About the Role:

We're looking for a highly experienced and dedicated Principal Salesforce Developer to join our client's team on a 6-month contract, with a strong likelihood of extension. This is a unique opportunity to lead the technical design and hands-on development of critical solutions, specifically focusing on Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Salesforce Experience Cloud. You'll be instrumental in enhancing our customer journeys, optimizing digital engagement, and ensuring best-in-class service through innovative Salesforce implementations.

Responsibilities:

• Lead Technical Design & Development: Drive the design, development, and implementation of complex Salesforce solutions, with a primary focus on Marketing Cloud and Experience Cloud, from conception through to deployment.
• Hands-on Development Expertise: Perform significant hands-on development and configuration within Salesforce Marketing Cloud (e.g., AMPscript, SSJS, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Email Studio) and Salesforce Experience Cloud (e.g., LWC, Aura Components, Apex, Visualforce, Community Builder).
• Integration Specialist: Design and implement robust integrations between Marketing Cloud, Experience Cloud, and other internal/external systems using various API patterns and integration technologies.
• Champion Best Practices: Contribute significantly to establishing and fostering a robust engineering culture and best practices specifically tailored to Salesforce development.
• Collaborate & Deliver: Work closely with stakeholders to define requirements, design optimal solutions, and deliver high-quality applications and integrations that meet business needs.
• Performance & Scalability: Optimize Salesforce solutions for performance, scalability, and security, especially within high-volume Marketing Cloud campaigns and dynamic Experience Cloud portals.
• Mentorship & Guidance: Mentor and guide other Salesforce developers, fostering their growth and ensuring adherence to coding standards and architectural best practices.
• Stay Current: Continuously research and evaluate new Salesforce features, products, and industry trends, particularly within the Marketing Cloud and Experience Cloud ecosystems.

Experience

• 10+ years of hands-on experience as a Salesforce Developer, with a proven track record of building and delivering complex software systems
• Deep, hands-on expertise (5+ years) specifically with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including proficiency in AMPscript, SSJS, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, and data extensions
• Dedicated, hands-on experience (3+ years) specifically with Salesforce Experience Cloud (formerly Community Cloud), including strong skills in Lightning Web Components (LWC), Aura Components, Apex, Visualforce, and Community Builder
• Proficiency in Salesforce APIs (REST, SOAP, Bulk) and a strong understanding of integrating Salesforce with external systems
• Solid understanding of Salesforce platform capabilities and limitations, including data models, security models, and declarative automation tools
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and familiarity with release management processes for Salesforce
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues within a Salesforce ecosystem
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
• Experience with other Salesforce clouds (e.g., Sales Cloud, Service Cloud)
• Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer Certification and/or Salesforce Experience Cloud Consultant/Developer Certification
