The Treasury Analyst supports all aspects of treasury activities including daily cash transactions, daily cash position, cash forecasting & budget preparation, while monitoring compliance with banks. This role works under general accounting principles and generally accepted auditing standards as they relate to Treasury. Additional areas include responsibility for sales tax reporting and remitting to various government bodies, preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules and bank account reconciliations. This role will provide Treasury related information & analysis, with the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports and statements, ensuring appropriate accounting control procedures.

What you'll do:

  • Analyze current treasury risk management data.
  • Identify current financial trends and issues in relation to banking activities.
  • Provide daily cash flow reporting and cash positions to management.
  • Release Credit Card in AS400.
  • Cash forecasting, and cash flow budgets.
  • Prepare work papers to support the quarterly and annual tax provision along with monthly sales tax reporting and remittances.
  • Manage the fees for various provincial recycling programs, with applicable reporting and remittances.
  • Prepare journal entries, and maintain various treasury related balance sheet schedules.
  • Completion of all bank account reconciliations.
  • Research tax issues as required.
  • Compile and analyze treasury related information, to prepare financial reports and statements.
  • Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
  • Ensure financial reporting deadlines are met.
  • Prepare financial management reports.
  • Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures.
  • Independently resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
  • Analyze and advise on business operations including revenue and expenditure trends, financial commitments and future revenues.
  • Analyze actual results and provide explanations for variances to plan and prior year.
  • Support for inventory accounting (monitor standard costs and makes necessary adjustments, with reconciliation of general ledger to physical inventory).
  • Assist in preparation of monthly/quarterly reports.
  • Ensure daily cash activities are accurately balanced and accounted for.
  • Continuous review of processes and procedures to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency of the Treasury function.

What we expect of you:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 4 years of experience in an Accounting role.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills with critical attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact with all internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership.
  • Working knowledge of general accounting principles and generally accepted auditing standards.
  • Proven time management and organizational skills.
  • History of balancing multiple priorities simultaneously with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines.
  • Previous treasury experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA designation and or working toward designation.
  • PeopleSoft experience.
  • AS400 experience

Pay range: $ 66,000- $ 80,000, depending on experience and skill set
