Material Handler- Seasonal

Gillfor Distribution has an opening for Seasonal Material Handler/Forklift Operators at our Calgary location. As part of our Lumber Yard team at our Calgary Distribution Centre, you will work in a team environment reporting directly to our Yard Supervisor. You will be responsible for efficiently and accurately assembling customer orders and some loading of customer trucks. This is a seasonal position from June to September.

Expectations

• Depending on direct experience - Loading and unloading of building materials in a safe and timely manner
• Assist in loading orders onto customer trucks
• Periodic inventory counts (quarterly) and spot checks
• Assist in keeping a tidy and organized lumber yard
• Compliance to all work safety rules and regulations
• Politeness to customers and truck drivers who are picking up or dropping off orders
  
  

Ideal Attributes

• High School Diploma
• Forklift experience an asset
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds if necessary
• Knowledge of the building materials industry is an asset
• Able to work in outdoor conditions
• Flexibility with start and finish times
• Reliable and punctual
• Self-Motivated and able to work without supervision
