MatchBox Consulting is on the hunt for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to work out of Vancouver, BC. Our client is a leading Canadian engineering consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering innovative mechanical and electrical design solutions for complex infrastructure projects. Known for their collaborative culture and technical excellence, they support professional growth and prioritize quality, efficiency, and forward-thinking practices across all project phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver mechanical design work for complex, multi-disciplinary building projects from planning through to construction completion.
- Assess constructability and prepare technical specifications to ensure designs are practical, accurate, and code-compliant.
- Participate in project planning and coordination meetings, offering technical insights and improvement suggestions.
- Review and sign off on engineering documents, drawings, and reports while mentoring junior engineers.
- Maintain accountability for design quality, documentation standards, and project timelines throughout the engineering process.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with active P.Eng designation.
- Minimum of 8 years of engineering consulting experience, ideally in building systems design.
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit, with attention to detail and excellent documentation skills.
- Comfortable collaborating across diverse teams and adapting in hybrid work environments.
- Demonstrates initiative, forward-thinking, and a strong interest in applying best practices and innovative ideas.
