We have built connections with key opinion leaders who are already using the Globe System and are helping to tell our story.
We have now completed our pivotal clinical study and our focus is on regulatory approvals and commercial launch. This is an exciting and significant milestone in our journey to bring this ground-breaking technology to patients.
Kardium’s growing UX/UI team is looking for an intermediate UX/UI designer who has proven success in designing elegant and usable software and facilitating the cross-functional communication with Development/Engineering, Product Management, and subject matter experts that results in implemented features that are both a pleasure to use and bring value to users and our business.
You will serve as the lead designer for new features or use cases. You’ll conduct heuristic/UX expert review of existing features and propose (and test) alternative designs, representing ongoing innovation and improvements to our system. Your work will help embed UX/UI best practices and adherence to regulatory guidelines.
Please note, this opportunity is a Hybrid work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC .

Kardium has listed the total cash compensation range (base salary + 5% RRSP contribution) that we expect to pay applicants for this role, as of the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. For candidates with more or less experience than listed above, the pay range will be adjusted.
As a permanent employee, you will also participate in Kardium’s stock option plan.
Total cash – the total cash we’ve listed for this position includes a base salary, plus a contribution to a Registered Retirement Savings plans (RRSP) to help support your financial goals.

Your Responsibilities Will Be To
- Collaborate in a cross-functional UX team. We work rapidly using principles and methods from Lean UX and design thinking: understand business and user goals; investigate for user insights, develop design concepts, evaluate concepts for usability & feasibility, iterate rapidly, implement tested solutions, analyse & improve.
- Research and promote inspirational UX/UI design patterns, including competitive analysis and benchmarks from other domains.
- Create appropriate design documentation to solicit user and stakeholder input (wireframes, conceptual designs) and to communicate design guidance to engineering/ development teams.
- Facilitate and support hands-on user feedback sessions.

You will be successful in this role because you possess these attributes:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in UX/UI design, preferably on products that:
- Are used in a technical setting/domain
- Are used by multiple concurrent users
- Incorporate rich data visualisations
- Incorporate hardware and software user touchpoints
- Degree or diploma in: UX design, interaction design, human computer interaction, digital media design.
- Experience in communicating with developers/engineering through the implementation and verification of your designs.
- You have a portfolio of effective UX /UI documentation, such as mock-ups, design guides, wireframes, and/or prototypes. Your work will show examples of both innovation to achieve business goals and pragmatism in working within constraints.
- Experience with applying design /component libraries as part of your production with industry-standard design tools: Adobe Suite, Figma.
- you have been responsible for the creation, maintenance, and rollout of a Design Library.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. You have practice in both giving and receiving constructive feedback in a design team.
