Building Envelope Inspector Reports to the Senior Building Performance Field Risk Manager on all matters, regarding all assigned projects, performance and testing. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Building Sciences, Architectural or Civil Technology, Mechanical Engineering and/or Construction Management; and
  • Familiar with NAFS/CSA-A440, ASTM and OBC.

Years of Experience

  • Minimum 3-5 years of Building Sciences and/or Field Management experience, in a construction manufacturing setting.

Working Conditions

  • On site work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks that require knowledge of and adherence to basic safety procedures and precautions;
  • Full Health and Safety training required (Working at Heights, WHMIS) and follow Health and Safety Standards on site;
  • Requires driving to site and carrying material; and
  • Flexible to work overtime as required.

Job Specific Duties

  • Generate NCR's and log them into Build;
  • Performance and Risk Perform walk through and send up to date list to Project Team and Service;
  • Ensure installation is within standard and in accordance with State Building Science Requirements;
  • Review the installation including workmanship and compliance of detailers per approved shop drawings;
  • Participate in the Start-Up meeting with the designated installer once assigned;
  • Provide a structured and itemized list of deficiencies that correspond to supporting photographic evidence;
  • Quality & Risk Analysis - Assess data trends, root causes of defects and compliance with quality standards;
  • Attend Project sites;
  • Perform site walks with the intention of auditing code, performance and structural deficiencies;
  • Identify non-standard site conditions and address with the Field Director;
  • Execute the Non-Standard Detail on site, after reviewed/approached by Senior Building Science/Technical Specialist Personnel;
  • Closing of all Building Consultant field report from our clients, with support of the Field Managers and Installers;
  • Collaborate with Engineer and/or architect to provide inputs and resolve site or project concerns;
  • 1st and 2nd floor CFT review and sign off during installation;
  • Assist in closing leak tracker items with the Service Team;
  • Review non-standard details / R&D detail package before shop drawing submissions; and
  • One State Training.
