Salary Range: $44.95 - $52.87 /hour
The Dental Hygienist provides direct client care to dental patients and hospital residents and evaluates periodontal health and provides sanative and preventative treatment based on individual needs. The Dental Hygienist conducts initial patient screenings, cleans teeth, and advises patients on oral health and preventative care including preparing oral daily care plans. The Dental Hygienist participates in training and education regarding oral care procedures and products.

The Dental Hygienist participates in training and education regarding oral care procedures and products.
Essential Qualifications
- Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
- Diploma in Dental Hygiene
- Valid registration with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a dental hygienist
- Demonstrated experience in the delivery of periodontal care including the formulation of periodontal treatment plans
- Demonstrated excellence in clinical care i.e. scaling, polishing, fluoride treatment, application of antimicrobial agents, radiographs and impressions
- Demonstrated knowledge of the periodontal disease process, contributing factors
- Remains up-to-date on clinical practice through attendance at conferences courses, certifications and dental hygiene meetings and associations
- Strong demonstrable critical thinking and problem solving
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in an interdisciplinary team
- Ability to provide education to patients, colleagues and other health care professionals
- Demonstrated self-awareness i.e., understanding of personal strengths and weakness
- Proficiency in French would be an asset
- Experience in geriatric setting (dental setting not mandatory i.e. volunteer work in nursing home)

- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
