The Talent Acquisition Coordinator will be responsible for supporting recruiting operations by completing Offer letters, Reference checks, security clearance management and ensuring all job postings are accurate and meet Telesat's posting standards.
In addition, the coordinator will be responsible for owning Telesat's Coop hiring program where they will be responsible for developing relationships with various Universities, full cycle recruiting and attend job fairs and other marketing events related to the hiring of Coop talent.

The Talent Acquisition Coordinator will be responsible for supporting recruiting operations by completing Offer letters, Reference checks, security clearance management and ensuring all job postings are accurate and meet Telesat's posting standards.

Main Responsibilities:
- Attend recruiting events, career fairs and other events as required
- Conduct on-site recruiting and screening as necessary for COOP hiring
- Update recruiting progress via Applicant Tracking System (ATS) Lever
- Conduct background and reference checks for potential new hires during peak recruiter periods
- Review, draft and distribute employment offers as directed by the Talent Acquisition Team
- Develop and maintain relationships with educational institutions, industry stakeholders and agencies as support resources and partners
- Input vendor details into ERP and process invoices on behalf of the Talent team as required
- Assist with onboarding, orientation and training of new hires where required; and other Talent Acquisition initiatives and projects as directed
- Arranging travel for interviewers
- Assisting with invoicing and contract suppliers using Workday
- Be the single point of contact with Telesat's security team for employee clearances
- Create, implement, and update a shared tracker for Recruiters to see stages of the offer/clearance/onboarding
- A combination of professional experiences or equivalent combined education, designation and work experience will be considered;
- 1-2 years Human Resources experience, including in talent acquisition
- Minimum of two (2) years of post secondary school education or equivalent work experience
- Registered Professional Recruiter (RPR) designation, or Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation along with practical experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Bilingual (French and English) written and spoken would be an asset
- Experience with Workday is an asset
- Experience with Lever ATS is an asset
- Knowledgeable of provincial employment standards (Ontario, Quebec, Alberta, British Columbia)
- Proficient in the use of computers and online platforms (social media, professional networks, job boards, etc.)
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and related applications
