About The Opportunity

LRO is partnering with an international NGO to secure a Bilingual Meeting & Event Planner. Reporting to the Senior Director, Strategic Engagement, the Event Planner is part of a team responsible for planning and delivering events and conferences. The Meeting & Event Planner also supports the organization with other in-person and virtual events.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Contributes to the planning and delivery of the organization’s marquee event, with over 1000 attendees, together with multiple, smaller events and meetings
  • Supports the conferences programs, speakers, catering audiovisual, meeting and exhibit space
  • Works closely with the selected venue for accommodations, exhibit and breakout space and troubleshoots where necessary
  • Develops supplier proposals and sponsorship and exhibitor packages
  • Oversees event registration; both on line and on the day of the event
  • Provides input to website promotion of conferences and events and contributes to the marketing and communication plans
  • Monitors the expenses against the budget for compliance

About You

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Post secondary education in Event Management, Project Management or related discipline with preference to those with a CMP designation
  • A minimum of four years of relevant experience
  • Experience leading event logistics, including programming, audiovisual, food and beverage and accommodations
  • Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities and possess exceptional multi-tasking skills
  • Experience working collaboratively, as part of a team
  • Strong technical skills
  • Bilingual (French/English) is mandatory

About the Job

This position is a full time/permanent position offering an annual salary of $63,000-$68,000 with a comprehensive benefits package that includes a retirement component. They are located downtown and offer a hybrid work arrangement that will see most employees in office once or twice weekly with occasional exceptions.
