What You'll Do
Project Delivery
- Lead the execution of grid electrification and energy management projects; from EV chargers to energy storage and building energy retrofits
- Oversee direct reports and third-party contractors with a hands-on approach to coordination, permitting, change orders, and contractor performance
- Manage and monitor project scope, schedules, and budgets with full accountability for outcomes and client satisfaction
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (lighting, engineering, sales, EV charging) to ensure seamless project delivery
- Solve complex energy challenges by defining clear scopes, troubleshooting technical issues, and guiding solutions
- Engage with utilities and permitting bodies to streamline approvals and documentation
- Collaborate with sales and engineering to build project proposals, including detailed scopes, schedules, and level-of-effort estimates
- Contribute to recruiting, onboarding, and mentoring new talent as the team expands
- Collaborate with sales and engineering to build project proposals, resource plans, and schedules
- Help build systems and processes to support operational scale, while staying agile and entrepreneurial
- Eventually take on broader operational leadership responsibilities as the company grows
- A proven Project Manager with relevant experience in lighting, electrical, construction, or energy systems
- Degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred) or equivalent experience in project execution and grid electrification
- Comfortable managing multiple fast-moving projects with overlapping timelines and contractors
- Understands the full project lifecycle: scopes, estimates, change orders, invoicing, procurement, permitting, and contractor management
- Able to roll up your sleeves and get involved, whether it's reviewing an invoice, negotiating a contract, or training a team member
- Strong communicator who can explain technical concepts clearly to clients, team members, and stakeholders
- Entrepreneurial and driven, with a desire to shape a growing company, not just work within one
- Experience with building electrification technologies and vehicle charging infrastructure
- Familiarity with municipalities and permitting processes in BC and Ontario
