We are looking for a Building Maintenance Staff to support our business growth in Toronto. As a Building Maintenance Staff, your main task is to assist with maintenance around the property, ensuring our building remaining safe and functional. You may be asked to perform basic repairs on our HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems. You may also assist with carpentry and painting tasks, landscaping, and deep cleaning tasks.

We are looking for a Building Maintenance Staff to support our business growth in Toronto. As a Building Maintenance Staff, your main task is to assist with maintenance around the property, ensuring our building remaining safe and functional. You may be asked to perform basic repairs on our HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems. You may also assist with carpentry and painting tasks, landscaping, and deep cleaning tasks.

- Establishes, monitors, and carries out preventative maintenance procedures and schedules for buildings, equipment, and grounds.
- Ensures building and equipment meets all functioning requirement, safety, security and fire regulations and policies, makes recommendations for major repairs and purchases to Manager.
- Performs carpentry, electrical, painting, mechanical and plumbing maintenance and repairs such as repairing furniture, constructing shelves, replace switches, replacing ballasts & breakers and other basic appliance repairs, applying paint and other finishes, repairing drywall, disassembling and reassembling equipment, repairing or replacing plumbing fixtures, and applying finish materials such as linoleum.
- Maintain the exterior areas of the building such as entranceways, sidewalks, and parking lots using manual and power tools, brooms, rakes, shovels, and other equipment to remove dirt, leaves, snow, and other refuse.
- Collects and removes garbage and recyclable materials
- Performs minor gardening and lawn maintenance tasks such as mowing, weeding, pruning, and watering.
- Completes and maintains related records such as maintenance logs and security incident reports.
- Transports equipment, furniture and supplies manually and/or using aides such as dollies and carts. Operates a motor vehicle to pick up and move goods and supplies. Arranges furniture for special events.
- Removes snow after a snowfall from parking lot, sidewalk, or pathway space, including using salt or another de-icing substance to clear ice from road and walkways.
- Performs other related duties as required
- Minimum 3-5 years experience providing preventive and corrective maintenance, experience in minor electrical work is preferred
- Hands on experience in carpentry, electrical repairs, painting, mechanical and plumbing maintenance, preferably in an office building environment
- Demonstrated ability to maintain, troubleshoot and repair (as per applicable qualifications) mechanical and other building systems and equipment
- Knowledge and understanding of Building Automation Systems (BAS) including security and safety systems
- Knowledge and understanding of HVAC Systems including make up units and boilers
- Fluent in Mandarin
- Must be able and willing to work shifts, be available for on-call/standby and emergency call-outs as they arise
- Physically fit, Able to regularly lift items up to 70 lbs.
- High school diploma plus trades training and/or certification or licensing is an asset.
- Hold a valid driver's license with clean abstract
- Able to operate snowplows and salting machine.
- Forklift driving/operation experience/license is an asset
