Position SummaryThe Junior Community Manager (JCM) is a developmental role designed to support FirstService Residential’s most experienced Community Managers in Calgary. This role is not administrative in nature—it is a hands-on, learning-intensive position that provides exposure to the full scope of condominium property management. The JCM will assist with the operational, financial, and client-facing responsibilities alongside senior Community Managers who oversee the largest and most complex portfolios in the region.
This position is structured to provide a clear pathway to licensing and independent portfolio management.
Within six to eight months of hire, the JCM is expected to obtain their Condominium Property Manager license. Upon licensing, they will assume responsibility for a portfolio composed of properties they supported during their training period.
Key Responsibilities Learning & Development- Shadow and support four senior Community Managers with large, complex portfolios.
- Participate in all aspects of property management including board meetings, financial reviews, vendor coordination, and resident communications.
- Complete assigned training modules and licensing coursework within the first six months.
- Attend internal workshops, 1:1 mentorship sessions, and team meetings.
- Assist with the preparation of board packages, budgets, and monthly management reports.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal departments to ensure timely service delivery.
- Track and follow up on action items from board meetings and inspections.
- Support the resolution of resident concerns and compliance issues under supervision.
- Upon licensing, assume management of a portfolio composed of previously supported properties.
- Continue to receive mentorship and performance feedback from senior managers.

Physical Requirements & Working Environment:- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Proficiency in using keyboard and office equipment
- Valid Alberta Drivers License
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for meetings and emergencies
- Occasional need to work beyond regular office hours, including evenings, holidays, and weekends, depending on business needs
Travel:
- Required for site visits, board meetings, and other business-related activities
- The frequency and duration of travel will vary based on business needs and operational requirements
