Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of valid Class 1 with Air Brake Endorsement and clean abstract

• 3-5 years experience driving tractor trailers

• Willing to work flexible hours, nights, weekends and overtime with early starts and able to work overnight/out of town (Bunk trucks or hotels)

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic computer skills
• Liquid handling experience
• Ability to lift 50lbs

Day in the Life

As a tractor trailor driver, you will begin to know the highways like the back of your hand, as you will be responsible for transporting precious cargo, operating and driving straight and articulated trucks, loading/unloading materials, and operating tack trucks for paving operations. Strong communications skills will also be necessary as you coordinate with clients, customers and dispatch.

When you are not driving, you will be conducting daily circle checks on vehicles, cleaning, and performing equipment maintenance but safety will be your number one priority. It will also be important to stay organized when completing daily timesheets and log books.

Due to the nature of the business, the role is largely seasonal, typically starting first week of JUne and going to October, operating through the week with some Saturday’s and Sunday’s. This position will be travelling from province to province (NB -NS -ON)
