Position Summary – Millwright

We are currently seeking a proactive and safety-conscious Millwright to join our Operations team. This full-time role is vital to maintaining the operational integrity of all production equipment across assembly areas. Reporting to the Director of Plant Operations, the Millwright will be responsible for equipment maintenance, process improvement, technical troubleshooting, and supporting internal training initiatives that promote long-term efficiency and safety across the facility.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment & Process Maintenance

  • Perform daily maintenance and repairs on all production equipment in assembly areas.
  • Execute preventive maintenance programs (PM & TPM) to ensure consistent equipment reliability.
  • Investigate and correct safety hazards, promoting a safety-first mindset across the team.
  • Track and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) for maintenance effectiveness.
  • Respond to machine breakdowns and provide timely updates through shift reports.

Team Leadership & Training

  • Assist with developing and training team members on equipment procedures and repairs.
  • Support team succession planning and identify heat score risks.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and inclusive work environment aligned with 5S principles.
  • Participate in promoting internal training initiatives and cross-shop versatility.

Process Improvement

  • Recommend and implement systems to improve production processes within and beyond the department.
  • Collaborate with contractors during breakdown events to foster educational improvement.
  • Support special projects and capital improvement plans related to maintenance and productivity.

Communication & Support

  • Uphold all company policies and demonstrate organizational commitment.
  • Support other departments and team members as needed to meet business objectives.
  • Engage actively in internal communications, company direction, and improvement initiatives.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Willingness to travel occasionally to support other global business operations.
  • Flexible with shift hours (standard 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM, earlier start times may apply).
  • Perform root-cause analysis of equipment failures and support investment recommendations.
  • Validate quality of repair work and propose the adoption of new technologies.

Special Projects

  • Participate in internal productivity improvement projects.
  • Take initiative in supporting and leading departmental capital projects as required.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Valid Millwright Red Seal Certification (ITA – Canada).
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
  • Solid understanding of Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
  • Experience in fabrication (TIG, MIG, and stick welding).
  • Strong troubleshooting and mechanical repair skills.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to work with a diverse team and maintain a collaborative, respectful culture.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ownership in managing production equipment and systems.
