The Impact You Will Have
As a key finance leader supporting Eastern Canada operations, you will play a pivotal role in driving financial accuracy, operational insight, and process improvements across multiple entities within the Canada Cartage group. Your work will directly impact decision-making by delivering reliable financial reporting, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring compliance with financial and tax regulations. By collaborating closely with both operations and corporate finance teams, you will be instrumental in supporting strategic initiatives, leading system enhancements, and building a robust financial framework that supports continued growth.
You will be the trusted financial partner to regional leadership, ensuring they have the accurate, timely, and actionable insights they need to operate effectively. Your contributions will help streamline reporting, optimize financial controls, and elevate the overall financial management of the Eastern region.

You will be the trusted financial partner to regional leadership, ensuring they have the accurate, timely, and actionable insights they need to operate effectively. Your contributions will help streamline reporting, optimize financial controls, and elevate the overall financial management of the Eastern region.
Location: Cornwall, ON
Schedule: Monday to Friday, on-site
What You Will Do
- Manage all accounting functions for Eastern Canada entities, including journal entries, reconciliations, month-end closing, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and reports, identifying anomalies and preparing normalization schedules.
- Lead the budgeting process for specific entities (e.g., Seaway Express), including annual budget creation and variance analysis.
- Oversee payroll processes, tax submissions, and compliance with financial regulations, especially for Seaway Express.
- Collaborate on system enhancements (e.g., GP 2021 upgrade) and explore new accounting software solutions to increase efficiency.
- Maintain strong communication with operational and finance stakeholders, supporting business reviews and training initiatives.
- Assist in year-end audits, enforce internal controls, and support tax audits as needed.
- A Professional Accounting Designation, preferred
- Proven Experience in Multi-Entity or Multi-Unit Financial Operations
- Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
- Excellent Communication and Collaboration Abilities
- The ability to speak, read and write in both French and English
