Airswift is working with one of our major clients in the Oil & Gas industry to find a Financial Analyst to join their team in Gatineau, Quebec. This is a 1-year contract with the possibility of extension.
This position is responsible for the execution of the company’s accounting, budgetary and regulatory cycle.

Requirements And Qualifications
- Professional accounting designation and 7 years + of relevant work experience
- Bilingualism required (French & English)
- Excellent analytical and synthesis skills
- Strong communication skills (oral and written)
- Capability to work in a Team environment, and to work independently within tight deadlines
- Leadership and Team Spirit skills
- Thorough and demonstrated attention to detail
- Ability to assimilate and apply complex theoretical concepts
- Excellent understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite and very strong demonstrated Excel skills
- Knowledge of Oracle and Hyperion will be considered as an asset
- Knowledge of Taxation related matters both Federal and Quebec Tax Compliance Regimes.
- Collaborate in month-end activities, prepare journal entries, reconcile, analyze, explain variances and create financial reports primarily for activities related to capital management, long-term debt and dividends, salaries and pensions;
- Prepare, analyze, and distribute monthly and annual financial statements, accompanied by comments;
- Revise certain end-of-month entries, identify, and analyze major variances in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including, but not limited to, assumptions for volumes, distribution rates, customer additions, operating expenses, capital expenditures and income tax;
- Provide data, reports, and ad hoc analysis to ensure the accuracy and reasonableness of the information provided, and as to present it for decision making;
- Collaborate on interim and year-end audits;
- Assist in the preparation of regulatory responses and documents;
- Write accounting policy decisions, based on USGAAP
- Participate in budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning process;
- Review financial processes and reporting as to always seek to improve efficiency;
- Continue to update and develop modeling tools to meet business needs;
- Seek to become versatile in all Finance Team tasks.
