Duties and Responsibilities:

The Aircraft Hydraulics Technician will work as part of a team in our workshop, carrying out tasks assigned by their team leader.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Know and adhere to company policies and procedures;
  • Ensure that your file with Top Aces including your professional training and qualifications are up to date and accurate and that any tasks assigned are within your qualifications. Inform your supervisor immediately if this is not the case.
  • Ensure that work performed on any aircraft or component thereof complies with the standards recommended by the manufacturer, the Canadian Aviation Regulations and company policies and procedures;
  • Ensure that the inspection, troubleshooting, repair, overhaul or replacement of parts is carried out in accordance with approved manuals and procedures.
  • Perform necessary work on hydraulic/pneumatic components (troubleshooting, repairs, checks, etc.).
  • Complete independent inspections.
  • Keep all work reports up to date so that work progress can be accessed at all times.
  • Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic test benches and equipment.
  • Check inventory and order necessary materials.
  • Inspect deliveries when authorized in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Support Top Aces' safety and quality management programs.
  • Perform basic supply chain data entry in RAMCO system when required.
  • Attend professional training to ensure ongoing personal development.
  • Be involved in the process of improving the workplace and working conditions.
  • Evaluate the general condition of the workplace and safety equipment (report to supervisor).
  • Ensure that snow removal is carried out.
  • Assist in on-the-job training of certain employees
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor;


Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

At the discretion of the Head of BRS.

Education and/or experience required:

  • An Aircraft Maintenance Training designation recognized by Transport Canada or an accredited course.
  • Aircraft hydraulic maintenance experience preferred, component shop knowledge/experience an asset.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Experience working on complex projects requiring a high degree of judgment, initiative and technical and specialized knowledge.
  • Good problem-solving skills and resourcefulness
  • Fluency in French required, functional in English to read, understand and interpret manuals, policies and procedures. Bilingualism is an asset.


Physical requirements:

Be able to lift 50 pounds.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime and shift work depending on flight operations ;
  • May be required to work outdoors ;
  • Position may require travel
  • International travel may also be required for this position.

  • Working in compliance with occupational health and safety laws and regulations
  • Follow safe work practices and procedures, and safety measures regarding general and personal protective equipmen
  • Report hazards (such as unsafe situations and activities) immediately to supervisors.


Security Clearance Requirements/ CGP / ITAR:

Position requires Level II Clearance with the Canadian Government and the ability to gain access to the Canadian Controlled Goods Program
