Allient Inc. is currently seeking a Strategic Procurement Specialist to join our team in London, Ontario.

Responsibilities:

  • Buys materials based on production need using MRP software
  • Compiles and communicates accurate pricing to customer service (CS) for CS to quote to our customers. This includes sending out requests for quotes, checking past pricing and quotes, completing Excel spreadsheets and checking material availability in the inventory system.
  • Responsible for supplier relationships ensuring suppliers deliver high quality product on time, while optimizing each supplier contact to ensure superior supplier response.
  • Develop, recommend, and monitor corrective and preventive actions when concerns arise within the supply base. Proactively address quality issues with suppliers. Working with the quality department to develop relevant procedures and policies to prevent re-occurrences and ensure overall profitability of the corporation.
  • Work with Quality Assurance to understand customer requirements for conformance and control of material & replicating these requirements to the supplier base.
  • Comply with Company QA programs (ISO 9001-2015) for monitoring supplier quality, including audits, controls, and other qualifiers
  • Monitor and Drive metrics for supplier performance. Ensure current supplier performance is considered before awarding suppler any new business.
  • Participate in required FPI or First Article Inspection process. Ensure order is shipped from supplier with all required documentation.
  • Source and negotiate supplier pricing and scheduling agreements to ensure production and customer requirements are met and lowest cost/high quality solutions are provided.
  • Frequent review of supplier open orders and quotes to understand status and be able to keep customer service informed of any issues as they may arise
  • Guiding procurement activities utilizing your working knowledge of Controlled Good Programs, ITAR, along with other general manufacturing and defense sector compliance procedure
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, blueprints, schematics, and part lists with an understanding of the goods and service provided by FPH Group Inc.
  • Support new product development and continuous improvement by completing RFQ’s, purchasing products, assisting to set up material control tools (e.g. Kanban, Lean, Six Sigma, etc).
  • Perform price analysis

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business Admin or Supply Chain Management. In lieu of a degree, equivalent years of experience is required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a technical procurement related role / manufacturing environment.
  • SCMP Supply Chain Management Certification or equivalent
  • Ability to learn ERP Software packages including P21 Software knowledge
