About Us
The Faculty of Health Sciences is a large, diverse, and comprehensive unit, comprised of seven Schools (Nursing, Kinesiology, Health Studies, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Communication Sciences and Disorders and Food and Nutritional Sciences), a large Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and four Research Centers. The Faculty has more than 4,000 undergraduate students and more than 900 graduate students (200 PhD students).
The National Centre for Audiology (NCA) is recognized nationally and internationally as a centre of excellence and leadership in Audiology and Hearing Science research. The NCA provides an environment in which researchers from many disciplines work cooperatively to expand knowledge of hearing function and problems, address the needs of people with hearing impairment, and develop behavioural and technological methods to assist persons with hearing loss. Successes include research productivity and leadership, and ongoing collaboration with hearing health care providers and industries.
Responsibilities
NOTE: This position is expected to be filled internally by reappointment.
The Project Coordinator/Manager will be responsible for supporting and overseeing all aspects of one or more projects within a research group, department, or Faculty. The incumbent will coordinate and provide ongoing leadership of the project, and manage all project phases by setting deadlines, contributing to project design, and monitoring and summarizing progress and results. The incumbent will engage various stakeholders, ensure project support and sponsorship, and provide leadership and direction to the project team.Qualifications
Education:
- Master's Degree; Experience with hearing health systems involving children
Experience:
- 2 years' work experience in a related field
Skills, Abilities & Expertise:
- Familiarity with best practices in building a strong collaborative team and leading people
- Familiarity with project life cycles
- Familiarity with techniques for planning, managing and coordinating multiple projects, with competing priorities that involve a variety of collaborators
- Project management skills to ensure team roles are clear, milestones are communicated and deadlines are met
- Familiarity with best practices for public health sysstems
- Communication skills to clearly and effectively interact with all levels of the organization
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
- A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Results-oriented with the ability to meet high performance standards
- Ability to interact professionally with students, staff, faculty, and other members of the University community
- Strong client focus with a desire to achieve results
