About Us

Since 1978 Air Inuit has been providing scheduled, charter, cargo, and emergency air transportation services in Nunavik and beyond, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Collectively owned by the Inuit of Nunavik, through the Makivik Corporation, the airline operates a fleet of over 35 aircraft ranging from a Twin Otter 300 Series to a Boeing 737 200C, 300 and 800 and employs over 1000 employees in one of the most challenging flight environments.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, supervise and evaluate the operations of the level 1 & 2 stations;
  • Work closely with the Ground Support Department team to ensure adequate support for the stations and customers;
  • Ensures compliance with operation policies and standards including determination of safety procedures for the handling of dangerous goods and transport regulations;
  • Recruit personnel, oversee their training, and monitor employees` performance;
  • Proceed with individual station inspections on location every three months;
  • Participate in budget preparations;
  • Provide support to level 3 stations when required;
  • All other duties deemed necessary by the company in order to ensure the effectiveness of the ground operations department.


Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate in at least 2 of the following languages: Inuktitut, French, English;
  • College Diploma or equivalent;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (spoken and written);
  • Minimum 2 years experience in the airline industry or in a similar position;
  • Professional attitude, responsible and reliable;
  • The capacity to offer excellent customer service
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook);
  • Knowledge of Air Inuit programs such as Amelia reservation and/or Skyline;
  • Possess a valid driver’s license;
  • Continuous travel throughout the network;
  • Available to work evenings, nights and weekends;
  • The candidate will be considered as having Montreal as their administrative base.


WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Rotational – 2 weeks of work followed by 2 weeks OFF
  • Travel to various Nunavik Stations during time ON


Compensation

  • Compensation and benefits are determined in accordance with corporate policy
  • Annual salary starting at $48, 694.
  • Northern Allowance $10,784 (if applicable)
