MatchBox Consulting Group is partnering with a well-established civil contractor to find an experienced Project Manager with deep expertise in underground utility installations. This is a key leadership role for someone who thrives in complex, multi-disciplinary environments and is ready to grow their career with a high-performing team.

With this opportunity, you’ll join a civil contracting firm known for delivering large-scale infrastructure and utility projects across Western Canada. Responsibilities

• Oversee the complete lifecycle of heavy civil projects, with a focus on underground utilities and road infrastructure.
• Review contracts, plans, and specifications to determine scope, risks, and critical milestones.
• Lead field and office project teams to deliver safely, on time, and within budget.
• Coordinate all aspects of project performance, including startup, safety, scheduling, cost control, and change management.
• Develop strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Support proposals and project pursuits as needed.
• Mentor junior staff and help develop future leaders.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Canadian experience managing heavy civil infrastructure projects from start to finish.
• Demonstrated experience with underground utilities (storm, sanitary, water) and ideally roadworks or transportation corridors.
• Strong client management, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project. Hard Dollar experience is a plus.
• Effective communicator with a collaborative, hands-on leadership style.
• Comfortable managing deadlines, scope changes, and site logistics in fast-paced environments.
