The IT Risk and Compliance team within the Information Technology Vice Presidency (ITVP) plays a key role in managing all risk and compliance processes within the organization at the ITVP. The IT Risk and Compliance team is seeking a proactive and dynamic IT Risk and Compliance Advisor to support the ITVP in the realm of risk and compliance.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Advise and support ITVP collaborators to:
  • Interpret the expectations of the second line of defense in IT risk management;
  • Identify and analyze various compliance and risk elements within ITVP teams to assist in prioritization;
  • Enhance control monitoring to ensure alignment with the organization's compliance expectations;
  • Conduct rigorous follow-up on timelines expected by various stakeholders in risk and compliance towards ITVP contributors;
  • Follow recommendations and action plans resulting from internal and external audits.
  • Provide a critical perspective on the effectiveness of risk management by ITVP sectors;
  • Ensure consistency, based on established standards, of risk management activities used by ITVP sectors;
  • Actively participate in various special mandates that may arise from IT risk and compliance;
  • Participate in quarterly risk and compliance reporting.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, administration, accounting, or other relevant fields;
  • Master's degree in a related field is an asset;
  • Certification in a relevant domain among the following: COBIT, ISO 27001, CISA, CRISC, ITIL V3;
  • 7 to 10 years of work experience in a regulated environment within Canadian financial institutions, preferably in insurance and financial products;
  • 5 years of experience in risk management practice; Knowledge of LEAN principles (an asset);
  • Autonomy, leadership, and ability to manage multiple simultaneous requests;
  • Advanced proficiency in English and French, as the individual will be required to make presentations and hold meetings with English-speaking and French-speaking partners on a daily basis.
