National Process Equipment Inc. ("NatPro") is Canada's largest national distributor of pumps, service and repairs, integrated systems packages, compressors and related process equipment. Founded in 1998, NatPro is headquartered in Calgary, Alberta and operates out of eight locations across Eastern and Western Canada. NatPro is focused on serving customers in the oil & gas, municipal, fire, mining and general industrial markets.

The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for driving all sales activities within their assigned accounts and/or territory. This role involves meeting quarterly and annual sales targets, supporting distribution channels, developing strategic business relationships, and shaping the vision and execution of sales strategies. Additionally, the Technical Sales Representative is accountable for managing the cost of sales to ensure targeted profit margins are achieved.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales goals and objectives for assigned accounts.
  • Achieve quarterly and/or annual sales plans, policies, and programs for all assigned accounts.
  • Attend trade shows as required.
  • Develop, manage, and nurture new business accounts and partnerships to accomplish profit and volume goals.
  • Maximize relationships with key retail and wholesale partners.
  • Communicate brand identity to pertinent business units, key business partners, and the customer base.
  • Conduct sales forecasts and weekly and/or monthly status reports.
  • Responsible for collection of accounts receivable in conjunction with A/R staff to ensure rapid and effective collection.
  • Maintain cyclical and as required safety tasks as directed by the health and safety program and jurisdictional health and safety legislation.
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with corporate departments, key business partners, and customers.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting and financial practices.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of marketing and advertising theories and practices.
  • Excellent grasp of brand building and articulation of value propositions.
  • Excellent teamwork and team building skills.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite.
  • Five (5) Years of direct work experience in a sales role.
  • Strong experience in all aspects of sales, including growth strategies, distribution channel management, account development, and business planning.
  • Post-secondary education.
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
  • Manual dexterity to operate desktop computer and peripherals.
  • Ability to lift or move up to 10 lbs.
  • Travel may be required.
  • Ability to attend and conduct presentations.
